Full - Day tour of Athens

Your driver will pick you up from the exact location you have specified in your booking, right at your appointed time.

Our tour begins right at the heart of Athens: Syntagma Square (Constitution Square). Here you will see the imposing building of the Greek Parliament, at the foot of which lies the Monument to the Anonymous Soldier, guarded 24/7 by members of the Presidential Guard in regional dress. On the left of the lower portion of the square, you can see an impressive line-up of some of the city’s most prestigious historical hotels.

We then proceed via Philellinon Street towards the historical site of Hadrian’s Arch, which during Roman times marked the division of the city of Athens into two sectors: Eastern Roman Athens & Western Greek Athens.

Just a few steps beyond Hadrian’s Arch lies the ancient temple of Olympian Zeus. There remain 15 of the original gigantic pillars, some still standing tall, others in broken fragments, for you to take in during our short stop. We then head towards the Panathenian Stadium, also known as “Kallimarmaro” (made of fine marble), where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. We shall have a short stop here for you to take splendid photographs and admire the impeccable architecture of the historical stadium.

Our tour continues via Erodes Atticus Street, where the Presidential Mansion and the Prime Minister’s Residence are located. A short stop will give you the chance to see the change of the Presidential Guard, each time in different dress from each Greek region.

Continuing our tour, we take in the neoclassical Zappeion Exhibition and Conference Hall, located in the peaceful National Garden, an oasis of cool in the heart of the city.

Moving on across the city centre down Panepistimiou Street, we sample the Catholic Church, the old Athens University and the National Academy, as well as the National Library. We make a brief stop for you to take amazing photos while marvelling at the architecture of the buildings.

Your driver then takes you to the Old Parliament building, situated on Stadiou Street, where we find the statue of mounted Kolokotronis, one of the key figures of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire in 1821.

It’s now time for the much-anticipated highlight of your tour: the Athens Acropolis, crowned with the Parthenon Temple, a universal reference point to the first Democracy ever in the world, nearly 2,500 years ago, and the brand new, state-of-the-art Acropolis Museum. This is followed by a call at the National Archaeological Museum. You have two hours at your disposal on each site so that you can fully enjoy the fine exhibits of timeless Greek art.

Our next stop is Lycabettus Hill. This is the highest point in central Athens, with panoramic views of the whole city. Having completed your photographic session, you may consider taking a coffee break at one of the picturesque cafes. Your driver will then take you to your designated drop-off point.
