Corinth – Argolida Tour
Itinerary: Athens, Corinth Canal (cross the Corinth Isthmus), Ancient Corinth, the Corinth Acropolis, Mycenae, Nafplion, Epidaurus, back to Athens.
Your driver will pick you up from the exact location you have specified in your booking, right at your appointed time.
We set off from Athens driving towards the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea.
We then visit Ancient Corinth, where you can see the temple of Apollo and the ruins of the ancient city.
Our next stop is the Corinth Acropolis, where you take in the imposing castle, standing at 1,885 feet above the plain of Corinth. On a clear day, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area, and beyond. Walk around the castle, tracing the steps of the ancient Corinthians organizing their defenses against their invading enemies.
Your driver then takes you to Mycenae, where you can visit the Royal Palace and the tomb of Agamemnon, entering through the amazing Lion Gate.
We then head for the beautiful city of Nafplio, which was the first capital of modern day Greece. Walk around the city, sampling its neoclassical buildings and old historical churches before taking lunch at one of the many traditional tavernas. Leaving Nafplio behind, we climb up to Palamidi Castle, crowning the city hill. This is where Theodore Kolokotronis, a key figure of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire in 1821, was imprisoned.
Our last stops are the old town of Epidaurus and the site of the ancient amphitheatre of Epidaurus. The theatre is worldwide known for its exceptional acoustics, allowing each one of over 10,000 people in its audience to enjoy perfectly unamplified speech from the proscenium, regardless of their seat position. Your driver will then take you to your designated drop-off point.
